JAN 2, 2026- Well, we made it to another big turning point. While I fall into the category of people who believe the new year is the Vernal Equinox (first day of Aries season) and not January 1, it is important. It is the start of our calendar year and billions of humans collectively agree on some level that this is the “new year” so therefore it is meaningful. It is a potent point of both reflection and possibility. It can be both exquisitely painful and yet celebratory, if not for surviving what feels like “not normal times.” 2025 was the Year of Peak Absurdity.
Today, Friday, January 2 CHIRON STATIONS DIRECT at 5:41 AM Pacific, signaling an added layer of sensitivity and potential wounding to come up for clearing and releasing on this full moon. Be aware of unenlightened and wounded people hurting others. Remember: HURT PEOPLE, HURT PEOPLE. Chiron stationing at 22° of Aries is also squaring Jupiter at 21°Cancer, which can amplify drama. AVOID if possible and remember that how people fight says a lot about them. And narcissists love to punch below the belt, so steer clear of them (in general, not just this full moon, but easier said than done).

Full Moon in Cancer opposite the powerful Capricorn stellium is an emotional reckoning and asks for complete acknowledgement + release of emotions regarding our personal power being thwarted or blocked by family, authority figures, institutions and the so-called “Leaders” of this society.
The Cancer moon is about emotional security. When the world feels unstable and unsafe, this is a challenge. But we all know that the biggest spiritual flex is being secure WITHIN OURSELVES, at our core, at our roots….NOT from outside circumstances. I’m not saying this is easy, but it is called for. With Mars + Venus sandwiching the Sun, our personal power and ability to assert ourselves in the world is up for examination. There is a reason that any form of basic psychotherapy begins with an analysis of our ROOTS and families of origin. The way we are shaped emotionally by our families in our childhood create a template that must be broken at some point, if it was not healthy or abusive in any way. Many are called to do this work; but most do not do it. Most people go to therapy when they are in crisis for a short-time, and then bail. It requires a certain level of commitment to change to continue to face the past (Cancer), especially so we can build a strong foundation of inner emotional security to endure the big shifts that are happening in 2026.
TIPS: Let it go and let it flow. If you didn’t do a ‘burn’ for the end of 2025, now is the time. It’s the perfect time to reassess your needs (Venus) and your desires (Mars) of how to be the Mother (Cancer) and the Father (Sun) to yourself that you never had. And if you were lucky enough to have a foundation that is built on love and emotional security, then thank you lucky stars. Many folks are extremely sensitive right now with the Chiron station and the Full Moon in Cancer DOUBLE-WHAMMY.
